Maria Rullestad Teigen

Maria Rullestad Teigen (1996) is a Norwegian percussionist, composer, singer-songwriter, conductor and instructor. She has a master’s degree in classical percussion and pedagogics from The Royal Academy of Music Aarhus (RAMA), and broad experience as both a solo and ensemble performer.
Teigen has performed at multiple festivals in Europe such as Oslo Operafestival, Percussion PULSE, Classical Hugs, and Nordic Percussion Festival, and received 3rd place in DNBs National Soloist Competition in 2015 during the Fjord Cadenza Festival. As a composer she specializes in mixing percussion with other art forms, such as dance, and often makes music which forces the percussionist to also take on a role as an actor. Teigen conducts multiple marching bands in Oslo, and also offers private lessons as a percussion teacher.
