Maria Rullestad Teigen (22.05.1996) is a Norwegian percussionist, composer, singer-songwriter, conductor and percussion instructor. She has a master’s degree from The Royal Academy of Music Aarhus (RAMA), and has broad experience both a soloist and ensemble performer.
Teigen has performed at multiple festival across Europe, including Oslo Operafestival, Percussion PULSE, and Nordic Percussion Festival, and received 3rd place at DNBs National Soloist Competition during the Fjord Cadenza Festival in 2015. In 2025 she performed Emmanuel Séjourné’s Concerto for Marimba & Strings during Classical Hugs Music Festival in Tallinn as a soloist with the festival orchestra.
As a composer Teigen has specialized in making music which pushes the limits of what a percussionist is by combining percussion with other art forms such a dance and theatre. Her works have been showcased at Oslo Operafestival and at Nordic Percussion Festival, as well as at conservatories and other music institutions.
Teigen conducts multiple marching bands in Oslo and also offers private percussion lessons and seminars for all ages.
